I’ve already shared this on my Tumblr before but Epilogue in Manila was really something special and, as my first concert ever, is now dear to my heart that I also want it here, in my new space.
Beware of a massive flood of feels and sentimental litanies.
This was my first ever concert! I’m really glad I got introduced to such wonderful guys last year and I got to see them live so soon. Seeing them up close and personal just blew me away (during Hi-touch and being right at the barricade by the extended portion of the stage) and you better believe I was fangirling hard that night.
Hi-touch: Happened too fast, it was a literal blur. The order went Taehyung-Yoongi-Jin-Jungkook-Jimin-Namjoon-Hoseok but my brain only registered Taehyung-Jin-Jungkook-Hoseok and I’m just why, brain. I’m a horrible person.
Rounding the corner to where the Hi-touch area is and first laying eyes on Taehyung was a surreal experience. I’ve decided that he was my new bias wrecker then and there. Maybe this is why I can’t remember Yoongi at all (I’m so sorry, son).
Anyway, it was too quick. Not even 20 to 30 seconds. And all we got to do was high-five everyone. A bit disappointing compared to TRB, apparently. Well, there’s a whole slew of mess that we had to suffer through but I digress.
Concert: AMAZING. That is all. Of course, they sounded great and the dances were crazy to witness in person but I need to give props to the live band. Live instruments took the energy of the songs to a higher level. Cypher Pt. 3 was a revelation. Young Forever finally grew on me, too. Just AH-MAY-ZING.
I only took videos towards the later part of the concert when I was so certain that the security guys won’t try to take my phone – I posted bits and pieces on Vine because ya’ll don’t deserve to be subjected to my horrid screeching and butchered Korean (and yes, I specifically made a Vine account for this very purpose but now Twitter is killing Vine whyyyyyyy). There’s plenty of Taehyung and Jin in it, me thinks.
Pro-tip: Make sure you have something like an image fan or a banner if you want your fave to visit your side of the stage every now and then. I feel like Yoongi came over a few times because concert buddy and I were holding banners by FISTBUMP unnie.
Hmm, what else? Oh, yes – the last 2 ments were wonderful. Hoseok taking great care to show his appreciation for the project by ARMY Pickles melted my cold heart. And seeing fancams of teary-eyed Bangtan made me cry for real the first time I saw them.
You can tell that these boys really do seem to still be in awe of the amount of love and happiness their fans send their way. I imagine they must’ve been feeling overwhelmed again and again throughout the tour.
I told my friend that I’m excited for Memories of 2016 to see what they thought of the concert here. Like, what they felt when we sang I Need U to them. That moment alone. I found it touching, to be honest. I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like for them.
As for Big Hit Ent, I’m betting Bang PD-nim must’ve seen big ka-ching potential for them to be back so soon next year for whatever the hell they’re coming back here for. People suspect another concert but I’m actually hoping for a fanmeeting as crazy as that sounds.
Whatever it is, I’m going to go even if it kills my bank account. Heck, I’m going to MBC Show Champion Manila (just General Admission this time around) so what’s one more?
Let me tell you: the post-concert hangover is strong with this one. I don’t think my life will be the same ever again after having seen Bangtan live the first time.
I don’t think my bank account will be.
